LipoSana Injections for Foot Pain
Restoring cushioning to help reduce pressure and improve comfort.
LipoSana is a minimally invasive injection designed to help restore lost padding in the foot. It may be considered for patients with fat pad atrophy, metatarsalgia, plantar heel pain, calluses, or pressure-related pain that has not improved with conservative care.
The treatment uses a processed human adipose tissue allograft to provide cushioning and support in areas where the natural fat pad has thinned. In many cases, the goal is to improve shock absorption, reduce pressure on painful areas, and make standing and walking more comfortable.
How LipoSana Injections Work
Your visit includes an exam and discussion of your symptoms to confirm that LipoSana is the right option for you. The injection is placed into the area of concern after the foot is numbed, and the treated area is then offloaded to help protect the result as it settles.
Recovery instructions may include a post-procedure boot, padding, or activity limits for a short period. Most patients can walk after the procedure, but we may recommend avoiding high-impact activity while the tissue integrates.
Who May Benefit
LipoSana may be a good option for patients who have tried padding, orthotics, supportive shoes, or activity changes without enough relief. It is often considered when pain is related to thinning of the natural fat pad under the foot rather than another cause, such as arthritis, nerve pain, or a stress injury.
Because foot pain can come from many different problems, a careful evaluation is important before treatment is recommended.
Why It’s Used
This treatment is appealing because it aims to restore cushioning rather than simply mask pain. For the right patient, that can mean less pressure, better comfort in shoes, and improved daily function
